Daily Life Challenge at The Inspired Scrapper

This week's challenge at The Inspired Scrapper is "daily life".  I loved this challenge because so many everyday moments are just forgotten in the daily grind.  What a great way to preserve memories of life right now!  In January our family switched to an i-mac computer, which is equipped with a photo booth app.  My Maddie just loves this app and has been taking daily pictures of herself, with a multitude of expressions.  Can I just say I think this is hilarious and I love seeing her crazy poses!  Here is the layout I created for the challenge.

Love the crown and the hilarious expressions!

I didn't have the right colour letters for my title so I sprayed some white glitter thickers with Adorondak spray.  I love the colour!

I love scrapbooking the everyday moments, our life is changing so fast these days and I don't want to forget any special memories.  Have a great weekend and Happy Memorial Day weekend to all of you in the States!

I created this not so little 6x12 album using 7 Gypsies Lille collection. Love, love, love how it turned out and I will be filling it with pictures of our everyday life.  I taught this album at the Scrap Yard to a group of wonderful ladies!

Teacher Appreciation Card!!

Look for this this card in the November issue of Scrapbook Trends Cards magazine!

Besides their parents, I think teachers are one of the most influential people in our child's life. So what better way to say thank you than with a card.

I made this card using a file folder cut down to a 6x6 card.  By using a piece of KI lace cardstock as a mask, I created a fun numbered background for my card.

For the finishing touch I turned some school themed brads into charms and hung them from the ruler ribbon.

Stylish Blogger Award and A Giveaway!!

Happy Friday Ladies!  The weeks just seem to fly by these days, we are half way through May already...hard to believe.  So a few weeks ago Valery awarded me with a "Stylish Blogger Award",   can I just say that I was so excited to receive this.  Valery was one of the first girls I met at The Scrap Yard , she is such a lovely person and I am glad to call her my friend!

After receiving the award I am supposed to...
Thank the person I received the award from and give a link back to her blog.
Share 8 things about myself.
Pass the award on to other individuals that have amazing and inspirational blogs.
Leave them a comment so that they can pass along the recognition.

Here are 8 things about me you probably don't know!

1. I am originally from California but have been in Canada for 18 years.   I miss Cali!
2. I seriously considered attending the California Culinary Academy to become a
pastry chef.  I love to bake!!  (instead I got married and moved to Canada!)
3. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE scrapbooking and feel fortunate to be able to do something  scrapbooky everyday.
4. The only licorice I like is Red Vines.  No Twizlers for me...Yuck!
5. Would love to travel around the world.
6. I LOVE the simple things in life.  I don't need fancy shmancy.
7. One of my most favorite movies is The Wizard Of Oz.  Love that movie, makes me
cry everytime, because truly there is no place like home!
8. I was dianosed with Muscular Dystrophy 7 years ago and it has taken me a long time to come to terms with this.   I have finally realized that there is nothing I can do to change this, so I put my big girl panties on everyday and live my life fully with no regrets!  Love this saying...She came to terms with what her limitations were and turned them into strengths.

Now, for my nominations for the award. Please be sure to check out their blogs and see some of the amazing scrapbooking/mixed media projects they have done.

Valery I'm Back!!!!

Ok so I have been absent for about 5 weeks now and my friend Valery has gently reminded me on several occasions that she is tired of seeing the "Sold Out" title. So this ones for you Val!! These last 5 weeks have been a whirlwind of birthdays, classes and just life. So I am back with a very long catch up post!

First up my oldest daughter, Taylor, turned 16! Can you believe I have a 16 year old? I can't, the time has just flown by. She has grown into a lovely young lady, we are very proud of her. My daughter Maddie, the future pastry chef, made her cake. Love how it turned out!

I had a fabulous weekend of scrapbooking with friends! I've never laughed so much, ate so much or scrapbooked until 3 am like we did this weekend! I went to bed with a sore face we laughed so much.
Also had a night out with the hubby! Super fun night full of great company, great food and music.
I was suprised by Valery with a "Stylish Blogger Award". I will be blogging more about this later this week. Thank you Valery!!
I taught this 7 Gypsies receipt tray class to a great group of girls. Everyone loved all of the details on this project.

My Miss Maddie turned 13! Wow two teenagers in the family, it is hard to believe. I made her a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, it was delish. I love the tulle from a package on her head, reminds me of the 80's. She is such a joy to have, always bright and lovely and ready for fun! Love her.
I also taught "My Beautiful Life" 7 Gypsies mini album to a wonderful group of ladies. This was a 2 part class which finished up last friday.

And my lovely assistant, Valery!
Finally, I will leave you with this card I created from scraps and a fun Nabob coupon that I found at a vintage store in Nanton.
I will be back later this week with a new post about the blogger award, new projects and a GIVEAWAY!!!! So be sure to check back this weekend!! Thanks for stopping by today.
